Cheap Movers

“The other company only charges $85 per hour for 2 men.”

“The mover on Craigslist is only $79 an hour, why are your prices so much higher?”

These are common questions and statements we hear when giving a price for moving service in Fort Worth.  Sometimes I’m not sure how to answer those folks, since they may already have it set in their minds that they want a cheap Fort Worth mover or a cheap Dallas mover.

“All that is good to know, but still, why are your prices higher?”

You get what you pay for! This statement usually rings true for high quality vs. low quality.  Of course there are exceptions to every rule but with professional movers, do you really want to risk hiring a “cheap movers” that may not be licensed and insured?  I don’t know about you, dear reader, but I like my stuff.  I like my stuff to stay in one piece, undamaged.  They say you can’t take your stuff with you (in the end), but when you are moving, you are indeed, taking your stuff with you!  Why would you choose a random Craigslist moving company with no license or insurance? When a moving company advertises itself as a cheap moving company, well, you’ll get cheap!

My husband has worked in the moving business for more than 25 years.  He started out by working for moving companies in New York, then opened his own company in New Jersey.  When his partner in New Jersey decided that ripping people off was a great way to make more money, my husband left that company.  Sure, a moving company can charge whatever they want.  They can raise prices, charge for a “long carry”, packing materials, shuttle services and much more. When you use a reputable, licensed moving company with integrity, any and all charges will be included in your not-to-exceed moving quote.

Our prices reflect a number of factors.  We have to pay rent, equipment, utilities, insurance (which is quite high for moving companies), salaries for our movers and office staff; the list could go on and on.  Our prices reflect our costs and the ability to make at least some profit, after all, isn’t that why people go into business?  Our prices for moving also reflect the extensive experience we have in the moving business.  We don’t cut corners.  Regardless of the size of your move, we handle every single thing you own as though it was our own.

There are a number of ways to lower the cost of hiring a professional moving company.  New blog post to follow with those tips!  In the meantime, when you are looking for reputable Fort Worth Movers with integrity and a commitment to superior customer service, give us a call or visit our website for a free moving quote.
